Job Description: Worship Leader
Position Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Worship Leader to lead our congregation in meaningful and engaging worship. The ideal candidate will possess the musical talent to play piano and/or guitar, sing, and lead others in worship. They will have a heart for building and leading a worship team, working collaboratively with the pastoral staff to align worship with the message of each sermon.
This role is an excellent opportunity for a college student or someone seeking to grow alongside a vibrant church community. The Worship Leader will be a committed follower of Jesus, live a life that reflects discipleship, and share in the vision of the church as we grow together in faith and service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Worship Planning and Leadership: Plan, prepare, and lead weekly worship services, selecting songs that align with the sermon and engage the congregation in authentic worship.
- Team Building: Recruit, mentor, and lead a team of musicians and vocalists, fostering a spirit of unity, excellence, and service.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the pastoral team to ensure worship supports and enhances the sermon’s message.
- Spiritual Leadership: Model a Christ-centered life and provide spiritual encouragement to the worship team and congregation.
- Administrative Duties: Schedule and lead rehearsals, prepare worship materials, and manage song libraries.
- Growth and Development: Invest in personal and team development, seeking opportunities to grow musically, spiritually, and relationally.
Qualifications:
- Ability to play piano and/or guitar proficiently and lead vocally.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to inspire and equip others.
- A heart for worship and a desire to glorify God through music.
- Alignment with the church’s vision, mission, and statement of faith.
- A commitment to living a life consistent with being a disciple of Jesus.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with the pastoral team and church staff.
- Experience leading worship (preferred but not required).
Hours and Service Time:
- Currently, we have one Sunday morning service at 10:00 a.m.
- Additional time will be needed for weekly worship planning, team rehearsals, and collaboration with the pastoral team.
- Estimated commitment: 6-8 hours per week.
Compensation:
This is a part-time position. Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.
